How About Doing a Singles Table?
So funny conversation with a friend of mine that will be attending my wedding happened the other evening. She has basically been worried about finding a guest to bring to the wedding in April. I let her know that we were not having ‘& Guest’ on the invite so there was no need to search for a date since other singles would be there. So this got us brainstorming. Dangerous I know and here’s what we came up with.
Problems with being inviting to a wedding when single (only off my experience):
- You have to find a date because you feel you need to.
- If you don’t find a date, you feel awkward about going, because you may stand out.
- You find a date and then you must worry about how this person will dress, behave, and if they will show up on time.
- You have a date so now you must give a gift that covers the both of you.
- You are single, you want to meet someone else that is single but it seems EVERYONE is with someone.
I can keep going, but you get the picture.
So anyhow, we were kidding around and basically there will be a bunch of singles, so we came up with all singles sitting together so you know who is also single. Kind of like a kids table but for adults. Of course, I was amused by this and the prospect of potentially sitting people together that could actually just feel relaxed and not awkward by possibly stepping on someone else’s toes by even striking up a conversation.
So now I wonder how others would feel if they were seated at a table with other people that are also single or if they would rather I sit them at tables with other people they know, even if the person is the “odd” count at the table? I wouldn’t mind, I’d actually find it fun. Any opinions, thoughts? Not even sure if I’m seriously considering this but you know me, I get an idea, and often like running with it.
How about I sit there with you?
| Posted 2 years agoIt seems to me that most of the wedding singles are female and we all already know each other, so we’d probably have a lot of fun.
However, if you know a bunch of single dudes that I haven’t met, I am pissed at you.

And I agree with Alicia. About the single dudes.
